Position Review

The baseball field is a unique place in sports.  Nine players, fanned out over a field of play, and while there are few rules as to who plays what position, there are many facets to each spot.  You typically wouldn’t want your speedster manning first base, nor your big, imposing slugger patrolling short stop.  It takes a different set of skills all together to make a great catcher, and you for sure don’t want your left fielder doing it.

In this nine part series, we travel around the diamond to pick out three stand outs at each position from the modern era.  An era that is relatable to the current game, and by which we can also compare to active players and get a true litmus on how great these players really were, and are.
